Abstract: My Honours project was to develop a user-friendly iPhone mobile application for Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card collectors. This application allows for the management of card collections through features such as entry, indexing, cataloging, and searching/displaying cards. The project includes the design of a detailed data schema, capturing essential information for each unique card, ensuring users have access to detailed and organized card data. By taking advantage of database management techniques for the storage and retrieval of card information, the app caters to both casual and serious card collectors. In addition, the application includes mobile-specific features such as easy-to-navigate views, simple processes for adding new cards, and an effective search/display function, allowing users to easily access and manage their collections. Ultimately, the goal of this project was to enhance the card collecting experience by delivering a well-designed and enjoyable user experience that combines effective database management with practical user interface design.
