Abstract: This project explores the design space of time-based mechanics in video games. The goal of the project was to implement multiple time-based mechanics across different game prototypes that share a common base and playtest them to gather player feedback. Following the playtest, an analysis was conducted in order to determine the strengths, weaknesses, and potential of each mechanic in order to get an understanding of how they can impact a player's enjoyment of a game.
