Abstract: This chrome extension acts as a social network that connects people through space and time. This social network aims to refine the audience that we are a part of and promote thoughtful insight in a space with inherently less noise and public opinion. This development resulted in a program that is successfully able to log in a user and have them comment on different YouTube videos for their friends to see or to store privately. And the user is able to see their friend’s comments in the side comment panel and the browser screen. This project's paper explores the creation of a chrome extension that connects users to their friends through chrome user interfaces and different backend components on YouTube videos. This paper details the chrome extension components used for this functionality, their initial implementation strategies, and their definitive successful architecture. Alongside the general investigation of chrome extension implementation and limitations, and research-based considerations over the course of developing the proof of concepts for this project. This paper provides a thorough understanding of the methodology used and considerations or lines of thought that led to the decisions made.
